An hour later, with ten more miles and the visit to the World's Biggest Drugstore safely behind us, we were back at home, and I had returned to that reassuring but profoundly unsatisfactory state known as "being in one's right mind."

Postcards from Elsewhere: Frank R. Paul.
"Paul remains the undisputed king of pulp artists." Arthur C Clarke
"Paul's fantastic covers for Amazing Stories changed my life forever." Ray Bradbury
I've been into art since I was in single figures and grew to love SF art a little later on. Although I rarely draw or paint these days, admiration for artists has never dwindled.
I look at Paul's stuff and just love it. His colour use and the abstract forms that litter his covers would be remarkable today. It shows how individual he must have been to produce so much back when.

Very f****** cool! :)
Yeah, I was aware of his stuff but never put a name to him until I saw the 50 watts post. Really striking, imaginative work.
